SimpleCall Customers Raise £3717.25 for Islamic Relief UK
SimpleCall, a product of Zamir Telecom and a provider of affordable, high-quality cheap international calling services, announces that its customers raised £3717.25 to benefit several causes related to Islamic Relief UK.
During the month of August, SimpleCall users donated the value of 5 percent of every top up amount to benefit a relief effort of their choice that benefits from Islamic Relief UK. These efforts include: East Africa Crisis Appeal; Emergency Funds for Bangladesh; Emergency Funds for India; Feed the Needy in Bangladesh, Middle East and North Africa; Orphans General; Pakistan Floods Reconstruction; Prison Mentoring Programme; and Water and Wells.
The donated funds were presented by SimpleCall to Islamic Relief UK during a dinner ceremony on 9 September at Cafe Grill in Brick Lane. Speakers and guests included: RazaulKarim of Islamic Relief; Naufal Zamir, Managing Director of SimpleCall; RaheemaMiah, former political advisor to Harriet Harmon MP; Councillor AbdalUllah; and LuthfurRahman of Sonali Bank.
At the presentation, Karim spoke of the crucial help needed by the communities Islamic Relief supports, particularly in Africa. ‘The money raised by SimpleCall will be saving lives in East Africa,’ stated Karim. ‘This money will go toward saving the lives of starving children in this area. As many of you may know, starvation is a very painful way to die, and SimpleCall customers have stepped in and said ‘No, I will not let this happen,’ and their donation has enabled Islamic Relief to give these more than 35 malnourished children hope to live.’
‘Organizations like Islamic Relief have made it possible for us as individuals and companies to contribute help to the problems we are seeing in Africa and the rest of the globe,’ added Zamir. ‘I want it to be clear that this isn’t just money from SimpleCall — this is money raised by the SimpleCall family who have paid us to pass it on. So thank you to our clients, who have done this charity work while they were talking. They did the talking, and while they were using SimpleCall services; they were donating.’
